Susy
Niles
Susy Niles has 29 years of riding experience and 17 years of coaching
experience. Susy’s passion for horses began at the tender
age of four and to this day the fire is still burning strong.
This passion is evident and her students reap the benefits of learning
from a professional who still remembers the feeling of winning that
first ribbon. Susy will prepare her riders for a progressive
introduction into the show ring, beginning at the lollipop level
and advancing to Trillium and “A” Circuit. Regardless of the
level, Susy supports her riders by attending the shows and mentoring/coaching
at the individual venues. Susy provides her students with
a strong foundation of skill preparation, theory, good sportsmanship
and most of all she maintains a fun atmosphere! If showing offsite
is not your thing…Iron Horse hosts a number of smaller in-house
fun shows throughout the year. Remember to visit our calendar
of events regularly.
Ken Niles
Ken Niles is the facility manager at Iron Horse. Ken can be seen
throughout the summer months tending the fields and taking fine
care of the task at hand. He also oversees the day to day
care of the barns, arenas, paddocks and grounds. This is no
small task but thankfully Ken has a number of great barn-hands that
make his job run smoothly. Ken also makes sure that the equipment
on site is running smoothly and he is always available to mend a
fence or fix a stall door when the horses don’t quite realize their
strength and do some occasional damage. The barn staff maintains
a daily cleaning and feeding routine that Ken personally checks
for quality control each day.
