Please observe
the following rules when visiting and/or riding at our complex:
Arena rules:
1. Clean
Up: Clean up manure in the arena after use. Leave it the way you
found it or better.
2. NO Dogs in Arena: Do not bring your dog into the riding arena.
All dogs must be ON LEASH while at entry/exit ways of arenas.
3. NO JUMPING if Under the Age of 18.
4. Announce Your Intentions: Tell the other riders what you plan
to do: "passing on your left", "jumping fence 3", "DOOR" to enter
arena, "DOOR" to exit arena.
5. If You are NOT RIDING or COACHING, Do Not Enter Arena. Unless
you have a valid reason related to a horse or rider in the arena,
please do not enter.
6. Left shoulder to Left Shoulder.
7. Slow on the Inside, Fast on the Outside: Slower riders should
ride on the inside track including those doing schooling such as
lateral work etc… Riders working at a faster pace such as a canter
or lope should stay on the outside track.
8. No FREE Lunging in Large Indoor Arena. Free lunging is only permitted
in the warm-up arena (small arena).
9. No "hanging out" in the centre of the arena: If you are not riding,
please feel free to walk around our lovely grounds or have conversations
in your respective barn. We also have a wonderful lounge for you
to enjoy!
10. Work Together: Be generous with right-of-way, we are all here
to enjoy our riding.
11. Cue Quietly: Voice commands, kissing, smooching to cue your
horse should be done quietly and away from other horses. Accidentally
cueing another person's horse as you ride along side them could
cause problems.
12. Try Not to Interrupt Lessons: If you ride during a lesson, try
to be unobtrusive.
13. All Horses Under Control at all times.
14. Proper headwear and footwear required at all times while
riding. As per the OEF, bill 12 requires all riders under
the age of 18 riding a horse at a commercial facility to wear a
helmet that meets current standards for equipment designed and manufactured
for use while riding horses as established by the American Society
of Testing and Materials (ASTM), the British Standards Institute
(BSI) or the European Safety Standards; hard soled footwear with
a heel of no less than 1.5 centimetres and/or safety stirrups (breakaway
or hooded). Tack must be properly fitted on every horse.
